Swimming Restrictions at West MacDonnell National Park - 26 November
The Department of Natural Resources, Environment, The Arts and Sport (NRETAS) advises that Ormiston Gorge waterhole and Ellery Creek, part of the West MacDonnell National Park have been temporarily closed for swimming and will remain closed over the weekend. View media release (pdf 29Kb).
Tracking Green Turtles All the Way Home - 26 November
Satellite transmitters have been attached to two adult female Green turtles in the Cobourg Peninsula area to assist scientists find out more about their home foraging grounds and track their migration journey between foraging and nesting. View media release (pdf 30Kb).
Cutta Cutta Caves Closing for Repairs over Wet Season - 26 November
The Department of Natural Resources, Environment, The Arts and Sport (NRETAS) advises that the Cutta Cutta Caves Nature Park, located 30km south of Katherine, will be closed for repairs and maintenance from tomorrow, 27 November 2008 to 1 April 2009. View media release (pdf 28Kb).

The Minister for Natural Resources, Environment and Heritage Alison Anderson today launched a period of public consultation for 67 sites around the Territory that have been identified as being of important biodiversity conservation significance. View media release
Drowning at Edith Falls - 24 November
The Department of Natural Resources, Environment, The Arts and Sport (NRETAS) advises that a male in his early twenties drowned whilst swimming at Leliyn (Edith Falls) in Nitmiluk National Park, Katherine at around 3pm yesterday, Sunday 23 November 2008. View media release (pdf 28Kb).
