The Junior Ranger Program gives young people the chance to enjoy a range of Parks and Wildlife activities. You could find yourself involved in:

Mammal trapping and wildlife surveys
Designing environmental displays
Landcare activities
Bush survival
Nature craft activities

Who, What, Where, When and How

See our Junior Rangers in action:

Who - anyone between the ages of 9 and 14 years can become a Junior Ranger. All you need is an interest in the bush and a sense of adventure.

A separate program is offered to Darwin Junior Rangers between 12 - 14 years. This program offers the oppportunity to discover and experience our natural environment through activities and field trips specifically designed for the age group.

What - Junior Rangers receive a seasonal flyer advertising up and coming events. This flyer acts as a newletter to keep everyone in touch. They also receive 4 issues of the Junior Ranger Review magazine.

Where- Most activities are conducted in our local Parks and Reserves by Parks & Wildlife Rangers.

When - Activities are held on weekdays, evenings, weekends and in the school holidays during the months of March to October.
